Lorelei B&B is situated near the town centre, housed in an elegant Federation-style building originally constructed in 1914 as a residence for Dr. Sleeman, a prominent figure from Portland, Victoria. The establishment has been operating as a traditional Bed and Breakfast for over 25 years. I have had the privilege of owning and managing it for more than 20 of those years.

Upon arrival, guests enter through the reception area, adorned with century-old leadlight windows featuring artistic depictions of magpies and a kookaburra. Adjacent to the reception are two spacious communal rooms.

The Dining Room provides complimentary refreshments around the clock, and breakfast is served daily from 7:30 to 9:30 am. Guests can enjoy a warm atmosphere on colder mornings, courtesy of the HeatCharm log fire. The breakfast menu includes a variety of cereals, fruits, juices, toast, and yogurts. A selection of jams, marmalade, teas, coffee, and juices are also available. For an additional charge, guests may opt for a cooked breakfast, which can be ordered during breakfast hours.

The second communal space is the Guest Lounge, accessible at any time, offering complimentary red wine and port. This room features a large box/bay window and an open fireplace, providing a cozy setting for relaxation.

A hallway extends from the Reception area to the guests' private rooms located on the north and west sides of the house. Each room, measuring between 25 to 35 square meters, contains a private ensuite bathroom with both a bath and shower. The rooms are equipped with a queen-size bed, seating, and a remote-controlled heating/cooling system. Additionally, each room includes a smart TV with a Foxtel satellite box providing access to movies, sports, news, and entertainment.

All areas of the house receive high-speed, complimentary Wi-Fi internet. Guests can use this to log in to their preferred streaming platform on the in-room TV, as well as connect their devices and computers.

Lorelei B&B is situated on nearly 1600 square meters of land featuring a dedicated garden, including a magnificent Carolina Poplar tree. There is also a large, covered veranda with seating available for all guests to enjoy.

Portland and its surrounding areas offer a diverse array of experiences, from rugged coastlines to native forests, as well as convenient short day trips to various regional attractions including the historic Budj Bim Cultural Landscape. Our location in Portland strikes the perfect balance between accessibility and tranquillity. Situated away from the bustling roads and highways, Lorelei B&B offers the peace and quiet of this charming town while remaining within walking distance of all local attractions and amenities.

Since 2004, I have had the privilege of owning this establishment and residing in the scenic southwest coast region of Victoria, Australia. My mission is to ensure that your experience at Lorelei B&B is both welcoming and enjoyable. I live on-site in the owner’s quarters, and I am typically available to assist with any needs during your stay.
