Lorelei B&B is my home in Portland, Victoria — a 1914 Federation‑style residence originally built for Dr. Sleeman — and I’ve been welcoming guests here for more than 20 years.

I run Lorelei as a traditionally hosted Bed and Breakfast, the way it used to be. That means real hospitality, a calm and attentive atmosphere, and the small touches that come from having an owner‑host on site. Every stay includes a complimentary cooked breakfast, with bacon, eggs and toast prepared just the way you like it. It’s a simple offering, but it’s generous, unhurried and served each morning in the dining room — and it’s something motels and many modern B&Bs no longer provide.

My private guest rooms each have a queen‑size bed, heating and air conditioning, an ensuite bathroom, a smart TV and fast, free Wi‑Fi, so you can enjoy the comforts of a modern stay within a historic home.

Lorelei sits on quiet grounds with a wide, covered veranda, and although I’m right in the township, the house remains a peaceful retreat. Cafés, restaurants, the foreshore and local attractions are all an easy walk away.
