Please take time to read the following Directory of information on making the most of your stay at Lorelei Bed and Breakfast.
Air Conditioning – is available in all rooms via the wall-mounted split-system unit. Please use the remote to control the temperature and ask at Reception for directions on use of the control.
Airport – Portland Airport is located approximately 15km from Portland. Some useful contact telephone numbers are:

Bar Service – a limited complimentary bar service is provided in the Guest Dining Room including wine and beer.
Bathroom Amenities – a complimentary pack of items are located in your ensuite bathroom including shampoo, soap and tissues. Please ask if you require anything else.
BBQ – is available for use by guests and is located on the front verandah outside the Dining Room. Please ask for assistance – utensils can be supplied and food can also be supplied by prior arrangement.
Beach Towels – are available at Reception. Please do not take our regular room towels out of the house.
Beer – a limited selection is supplied free-of-charge and is available from your fridge in the Dining Room.
Blankets – a spare blanket is located in your wardrobe.
Books/Magazines – are not currently supplied due to Covid.
Breakfast – is served in the Dining Room from 7:30am to 9:30am each day. Please ask if you require an earlier breakfast.
Check-out – please check-out by 11am or ask at reception if you require a later time. Guests wishing to check-out before 7am should pay their account the night before.
Children – we enjoy having families stay with us and encourage children to enjoy the guest areas both within the house and outside in the front garden. Please ensure your children are adequately supervised so as to limit any potential disturbance to other guests staying with us.
Cleaning – a daily cleaning service is not provided for guests staying more than 1 night. But please let me know if there is something that requires my immediate attention or if you require replacement/extra towels.

Dinner – can be supplied by prior arrangement..
Emergency – please note your nearest exit should an emergency arise. A fire extinguisher is located in the hallway near the Reception desk. The telephone number for Police, Fire and Ambulance is 000.
First Aid – please ask at Reception if you require any First Aid supplies.
Foxtel – Foxtel is available to all customers free of charge.
Games – are not currently supplied due to Covid. Playing cards may be purchased at Reception for $5.
Heating – is available in all rooms via the wall-mounted split-system unit. Please use the remote to control the temperature and ask at Reception for directions on use of the control.
Housekeeping – a daily cleaning service is not provided for guests staying more than 1 night. But please let me know if there is something that requires my immediate attention or if you require replacement/extra towels.
Internet – cable and wireless broadband internet connections are available in each room. Guests are encouraged to use the free Broadband connection and cables are available at Reception to connect your computer. The WiFi router is called ‘Lorelei Guest WiFi’. The current password is on display at Reception.
Ironing – an iron and ironing board is available in each room.
Keys – your room key also unlocks the front door to the building. This door is locked each night at about 10:30pm so please remember to take your key if you plan to return after this time.
Laundry – laundry services are available at a local laundry service at a reasonable price. Please ask at Reception for a laundry bag. Articles to be cleaned can be left at Reception to be delivered and collected.
Maps – a limited number of free maps of Portland and surrounding areas are available at Reception.
Masks - are NOT currently required to be worn in the house. A mask can be provided if you need one to take with you.
Messages – any messages left for you in person or by phone will be held at Reception. A note will be placed on your door to let you know a message has been received.
Payment – is required at check-out by cash, Bitcoin or credit card. Accounts can be established with prior arrangement.
Pillows – extra pillows are located in your wardrobe.
Reception – is open from 7am to 10pm each day. Please ring for service from the door bell located on the Reception desk for attention and after-hours assistance.
Satellite TV – Foxtel is available to all customers free of charge.
Secretarial Support – a limited secretarial service is available in-house. Please ask at Reception for more information.
Shoe Cleaning – shoe cleaning equipment is available for guests’ use. Please ask at Reception.
Smoking – is not allowed in the building. Please smoke outside.
Spa Baths – are available in rooms 2, 3, and 4. Please ensure baths are filled to a sufficient level above the outlets before turning on the spa pump.
Table Tennis - please feel free to use the table in the Sports Lounge (Room 1) between 10am and 9pm. Racquets, balls and sanitiser is supplied.
Taxis – are available 24 hours, 7 days per week. Bookings are recommended. Please call 13 10 08 from the guest phone in the entrance hall or ask for assistance at Reception.
Telephone – is available at Reception for guests’ use free-of-charge for local, national and calls to mobiles. Please ask for assistance if you need to make an international call.
Television – Digital TV reception is available in each room.
Tourist Information – a limited amount of tourist information is available at Reception. Otherwise guests should visit the Maritime Discovery Centre on the Lee Breakwater Road.
Towels – are provided for in-house use only. Beach towels are available at Reception should you wish to take towels to the beach or aquatic centre.
Visitors – are welcome to join you during your stay and enjoy reasonable use of the guest facilities including the complimentary beer and wine.
Wake-up – please ask at Reception if you require us to knock on your door at a particular time.
Wine – a limited selection is supplied free-of-charge. White wine is available from your fridge in the Dining Room and red wine is located on your buffet.
